Taxis are easy to grab right in Cruz Bay and can take you to all of the north shore beaches. Wharfside Watersports and Cruz Bay Water Sports (both 5 min away) can set you up with snorkel tours, kayaks, and day trips on the water.
The Cruz Bay Ferry Dock (5 min walk) connects to Red Hook on St. Thomas, and Inter Island Boat Services (2 min walk) connects to Charlotte Amalie — the ferry that gets you closest to the airport, available during high season months.

Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay are consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world, and for good reason. Crystal clear turquoise water, powdery white sand, and some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean — right off the shore.
The water stays warm year round, so whether you're visiting in January or July, you're getting in.
Don't miss Maho Bay either — a laid-back, shallow bay that's famous for sea turtle sightings and has a fun little bar and shopping area right on the beach. It's the kind of place you show up to for an hour and stay for the afternoon.

Stop by the Virgin Island National Forest Visitors Center (5-min walk) to grab a trail map.

Mostly we enjoyed going out because everything is literally a couple minutes walk and no big hills to deal with. We felt safe on the island and it was easy to catch a cab to the beaches.
